The VSI delegation led by the Deputy Director- Ms. Tembo, and Mr. Yooma visited Kumbaya Community School (KCS) of Chaisa area, Lusaka to conduct a special briefing on the use of sanitary pads by a girl Child. The talk was inspired by the need to minimize absenteeism by keeping girls in school during “that time” of the month. Among other concerns, Ms. Tembo addressed the fact that people who make donations as these often overlook the need to discuss with recipients on how to use and dispose of sanitary pads. To wrap up the talk, Ms. Tembo handed over the sanitary products donated by Ms. Roxanne Barratt to the pupils at Kumbaya. The delegation was warmly received by Mrs. Lwabila; Director at Kumbaya Community School. Ours is to keep the girl child in school at all costs!
