The Visionary Students Initiative-VSI executive leadership held a brief discussion on issues of mutual interest with the Minister for Central Province Hon. Credo Nanjuwa MP. This follows the VSI Action Plan (2022-2026) set by the VSI executive to supplement the government’s efforts in improving the lives of Zambians without leaving anyone behind.
Hon. Nanjuwa who is also Mumbwa Member of Parliament commended the VSI delegation for the thoughtful moves and welcomed them to explore sustainable community development opportunities in Mumbwa District.
The VSI delegation is scheduled to conduct a mapping exercise in Mumbwa to fully understand the situation and dynamics in the district. The VSI brief on Youth-led Change focuses on the following long-term projects (2022-2026):
1. The VSI Skills Development and Training Centre/Community School
2. The VSI Drop-in Center (For children living and or working on the streets)
3. The Mental Health Consortium. (A loose alliance comprising VSI, Miss Zambia, Reach One Child Foundation, Identify Finders, and Thandiwe Mental Health Foundation)These projects will be implemented in partnership with the government, private sector, and key stakeholders.
The VSI monthly programing schedule for short-term activities remains the same:
1. Charity Programs
2. Educational Programs
3. Keep Zambia Clean, Green, and Healthy Campaign.
