Visionary Students Initiative (VSI) and the Office of the Vice President OVP Department of National Guidance and Religious Affairs have continued to empower learners with knowledge on National Values and Principles (NVPs) at Munali Girls Secondary School. The idea is to train them how to become responsible citizens who can contribute positively to the country’s development.
By definition, National Values and Principles (NVPs) refer to the fundamental beliefs, norms, and standards that guide the behavior, decisions, and interactions of citizens within a nation. They serve as the moral and ethical foundation for a country, promoting unity, social cohesion, and responsible citizenship.
Part II 8 (1) of the Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) No. 2 of 2016 lists NVPs as follows :
Morality and ethics;
Patriotism and national unity;
Democracy and constitutionalism;
Human dignity, equity, social justice, equality and nondiscrimination;
Good governance and integrity; and
Sustainable development.
