The Visionary Students Initiative-VSI, together with Joyce and Friends Foundation, and Umwina Africa Initiative joined the rest of the world in commemorating World Cleanup Day 2021. In Lusaka, the cleaning exercise was organized by Citizens Environmental & Social Concern (CESCo) Zambia.
The event was graced by the Minister of Local Government Hon Garry Nkombo.
Mr. Nkombo commended the youth for their diligent hunger for community development. He further encouraged the city council structures to ensure that Zambia is kept clean, green and healthy.
On this day, volunteers and partners worldwide come together to cleanup litter and mismanaged waste from our beaches, rivers, forests, and streets.
World Cleanup Day harnesses the power of everyday people to achieve incredible things by joining together. Its beauty lies in cooperation and collaboration: building bridges between disparate communities, and including all levels of society – from citizens to business, to government.
VSI remains committed to keeping the communities safe from various forms of harm and damage.
