OURS IS COMMUNITY SERVICE

Yesterday 22/02/2020, as outlined in our roadmap for the Street Children Support Scheme, we addressed Phase 2 and 3. Phase 2: HUMAN RIGHTS AWARENESS SESSIONWe conducted a one-on-one human rights awareness session with two street children; Daniel and Moses. The session was interactive and yielded good results—mutual agreement on a number of things such as: (a) washing up, (b) staying away from the streets once admitted to their respective homes, and (c) do their best to stay as committed as possible to their education.Phase 3: TRACKINGKnowing where these children are coming from was an interesting part of yesterday’s outreach. Using our TRACKING SYSTEM, we managed to locate the residence of Daniel and Moses–St. Lawrence Home of Hope, Kamwala South, Manganese Rd, Lusaka. The Director at St. Lawrence Home of Hope welcomed us with open arms and shared vital information about Daniel and Moses. Going forward, VSI shall soon enter into a COOPERATION AGREEMENT with St. Lawrence Home of Hope which acknowledges mutual interest in exploring ways, opportunities, and avenues to cooperate, develop and implement initiatives for the well-being of the society with special focus on the importance of Hope, Love, Happiness, Peace and Security.
