SPORT AND EDUCATION DAY, CHIKOKA PRIMARY SCHOOL, MUNGU AREA, KAFUE DISTRICT.
Every first Monday of July, Zambia celebrates Heroes’ Day to remember those who fought, and sometimes died, in the struggle for Zambias’ independence. However, in more recent years, the list of national heroes and heroines has been expanded to include people from all walks of life who have contributed heroically to the nation’s advancement.
As an organization, we attended the CHILDREN’S SPORT AND EDUCATION DAY held at Chikoka Primary School in the Mungu area of Kafue district organized by The Reach One Child Campaign.
Opportunities for physical activities such as sport can provide educational advantages to children and young people. In general, research suggests that sport can be used as a means to educate, sensitize and reduce deviant behavior among children and youth.
Together with our partners in community and social development, we participated in a physical-activity community outreach program for children in Kafue, mungu area.
Through these activities, we focused on the following thematic areas: •Safety/Health awareness, •Sexual /Adolescent Health Education, and • Career Guidance through sport.

Pride Community Health Organization together with Health Literacy Zambia raised awareness on menstrual hygiene products, HIV testing and condomizing Zambia. These lessons were of great benefit to both the local people and participants.
Stoutone Investments graced the occasion with a number of sanitary towels which were distributed to beneficiaries.
Other items in the likes of school stationery, sweets were distributed to the Chikoka Primary School pupils.
The Visionary Students Initiative remains Committed to supplementing Government’s efforts in improving the lives of the people of Zambia.
