Just at 2, we have demonstrated what happens when hopeful people work together to transform our community for good. We have managed to mobilize people and organizations to create a driving force for Youth-Led Change– change that is meaningful. In this we take pride– aligning ourselves with national and global goals that address the three dimensions of Sustainable Development– Economic, Social and Environmental. It takes years for Non-Governmental Organizations to qualify as developed and prosperous. They require years of nurturing, amidst many setbacks such as funding. For VSI, the journey hasn’t always been smooth. We have learnt many lessons along the way, for example, achieving Sustainable Development will require local and global actions to deliver on the legitimate aspiration towards further economic and social progress, requiring growth and employment. We recommit ourselves to: 1. Igniting conversations between community groups and government line ministries to become more cohesive and develop opportunities to do more together.2. Creating opportunities for young people to build relevant skills and gain qualifications.3. Creating partnerships that acknowledge mutual interest in exploring ways and opportunities to cooperate, develop and implement age-appropriate initiatives for the well-being of community. In all that we do at VSI, we acknowledge the Supremacy of God Almighty. We know that He is on our side. “This is the boldness which we have toward Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He listens to us.” – 1 John 5:14Utmost gratitude goes to every member of VSI, our partners and key stakeholders.
