VSI INTRODUCES ITS EDUCATORS TO THE OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT, DEPARTMENT OF NATIONAL GUIDANCE AND RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS

The Visionary Students Initiative-VSI Central Executive has introduced the VSI Educators to the Office of the Vice President Department of National Guidance and Religious Affairs (OVP) ahead of awareness programs focusing on National Values and Principles (NVPs). The educators underwent a rigorous selection process, which included interviews and child safeguarding certification. They were chosen from a pool of dedicated volunteers who responded to VSI’s call to serve.

The meeting was graced by Mr. Godfrey Kaoma, Assistant Director—National Guidance. Mr. Kaoma shared an overview of Zambia’s National Values and Principles, the planned awareness activities, and the transformation agenda.

VSI in partnership with OVP will empower young people in Zambia to become active contributors to the country’s national values and principles. The idea is to inspire, educate, and equip citizens with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to promote a culture of patriotism, integrity, and social responsibility.

To achieve this, VSI and OVP will be implementing several strategic initiatives including but not limited to;

🇿🇲 Advocating for the integration of national values and principles into the Zambian school curriculum, ensuring that students understand and appreciate Zambia’s National Values and Principles.

🇿🇲 Identifying and nurturing young leaders through training programs, mentorship, and community service projects. This empowers them to become change-makers and role models in their communities.

🇿🇲 Encourages students to engage in community service projects that promote national values and principles. This fosters a sense of social responsibility and civic engagement.

🇿🇲 Organizing debates, discussions in institutions of learning, and forums that provide a platform for students and young people to share their perspectives on national issues, promoting critical thinking, public speaking, and active citizenship.
